Project Spotlights:
• Services included numerical modeling through the CORMIX and EFDC models and NPDES and construction permitting support. The project required close coordination with the design firms (Fluor) to lower the treatment system cost and expedite permitting process.
• WEC worked with Anchroma and SCDHEC to negotiate an NPDES permit allows Archroma to leverage its treatment capacity for additional revenue.
• Services included review of existing permit limits and wasteload allocation, field measurements for bathymetry and current velocity, and CORMIX modeling for whole effluent toxicity.
• Project including field measurements for bathymetry and current velocities as well as CORMIX modeling, resulting in temperature limits for a long-term operational cost savings for the plant.
• Project included field measurements for bathymetry and current velocities, numerical modeling with EFDC, and permitting support.
• WEC used the CORMIX model to design a single-port diffuser resulting in favorable whole effluent toxicity limits and the EFDC model to ensure the discharge would not affect the dissolved oxygen within the river.
• Services included field measurements for bathymetry, current velocity, and temperature as well as multiple CORMIX modeling scenarios for various outfall configurations. The project resulted in whole effluent toxicity (WET) limitations with sufficient compliance margin for the plant expansion and addressed NPDES permit limits for future expansion plans.
